a long, hot summer…

Thats what Macy has to look forward to while her boyfriend, Jason is away at Brain Camp. Days will be spent at a boring job at the library, evenings will be filled with vocabulary drills for the SATs, and spare time will be passed with her mother, the two of them sharing a silent grief at the traumatic loss of Macy’s father.

But sometimes unexpected things can happen- such as the catering job at Wish, with its fun- loving, chaotic crew. Or her sister’s project of renovating the  neglected beach house, awakening long lost memories. I would recommend this book for girls ages 12-16.

Four Very different friends. One pair of magical pants. And a summer apart…

We, the Sisterhood hereby instate the following rules to govern the use of the Traveling Pants:

1. You must never wash the Pants.

2. You must never double cuff the Pants. It’s tacky. There will never be a time when this will not be tacky.

3. You must never say the word “phat” while wearing the Pants. You must also never think “I am phat” while wearing the Pants.

4. You must never let a boy take off the Pants (although you may take them off yourself in his presence).

5. You must not pick your nose while wearing the Pants. You may, however, scratch casually at your nostril while really kind of picking.

6. Upon our reunion, you must follow the proper procedures for documenting your time in the Pants.

7. You must write to your Sisters throughout the summer, no matter how much fun you are having without them.

8. You must pass the Pants along to your Sisters according to the specifications set down by the Sisterhood. Failure to comply will result in a severe spanking upon our reunion. 

9. You must not wear the Pants with a tucked in shirt and belt. See rule #2.

10. Remember: Pants=Love. Love your pals. Love yourself.

I think that this book is amazingly realistic, you can relate to each of the characters, and you will find yourself smiling for joy, or crying for someone at times. It is a book that brings you to realize that friends are one of the most important things in your life. I would give this book 6 stars out of 5!

In my opinion, Twilight is NOT overrated. Twilight is a very descriptive, suspenseful book, and a lot of people will find that they are a bit like one of the many characters in the book. Below I have written a short “sneak peek” of the book for those who haven’t read it yet.

Twilight all begins when a high school aged girl named Bella Swan moves into a small town in Washington called Forks. After living in Arizona for years with her mother, Forks is a huge change for her. Bella comes to Forks to spend some time with her father, who is also the town’s police chief.

When Bella starts school, she grows curious about the mysterious Cullen family, who keep to themselves and are all stunningly beautiful. When Bella asks her new friends about the Cullens, they answer that they often keep to themselves. But, Bella gets some interesting news: all the children are adopted and live in the same house, but, Rosalie and Emmet, and Alice and Jasper are couples. That leaves the seemingly younger Edward all alone.

At this point, Bella must find out what the Cullens are keeping from everyone, after a strange incident in Biology class where Edward seems to act as if he absolutely loathes her, she knows that something must be up.

Now that you have something about Twilight in a teenager’s words, you will have a fairly clear idea of what the book is about! I encourage you to read this book very much, and if you like it, then read the whole series! Why stop when you can get even more of Bella and Edward and everyone else!
